The Japanese term washi stands for adhesive tape made of vegetable fiber. Like so much else in the island nation, it took a strange turn from another area of use to get here. The masking tape used for painting has changed from a caterpillar to that wonderful butterfly, with which we can now paste and paste our Instax images, tear, cut, glue, write on it, and if we don't like it, we can make it disappear without a trace. With different patterns, for different moods!
