Talált tárgyak/ Lost and found Szalai Dániel Belongings of the Road (2010-2011) sorozata Budapest egyik elővárosi autópályája mellett talált, jellemzően autókból kidobott tárgyakból áll. Ezekből a talált tárgyakból választott ki a művész 36 érdekes darabot, esetenként valaha volt személyes tárgyakat, amelyeket nagy felbontású fotóvá szkennelt, melyekből a Főfoto Galéria most 15 darabot mutat be. Kardos Sándor sorozata néhány eddig még nem publikált különös történetű fotóból áll. Ezeken nemcsak a fotón látható jelenetnek, hanem megtalálásuknak és a felületükön keletkezett roncsolódásoknak is története van. A negatívok nem szakszerű tárolásakor az idő nem csak a témán hagy nyomot, hanem fizikai elváltozások is történnek a hordozón, hajlamosak a penészedésre, töredezésre. A Kardos által megtalált képeken ezek az elváltozások nem viszolygást keltenek, hanem a maguk esetlegességével, elszíneződéseikkel plusz jelentést adnak, a kép részévé válnak. Egy hirtelen jött vihar, a grönlandi felföldön nemcsak jégesőt tartogat, hanem nem várt meglepetést is. Kóczán András a vihar elől barátaival egy fjord-szerűség elhagyatott házába húzódott, ahol egy exponált, de még előhívatlan filmtekercset talált. Hazaérve öccsét, Gábort bízta meg a kidolgozással. A képeken egy inuit család fényképezőgéphez való különös viszonya tárul fel, melyhez a komor, de napsütötte grönlandi táj szolgáltatja a díszletet.
The exhibition Lost and found connects the works of three artists. The series of Szalai Dániel entitled Belongings of the Road (2010-2011) consists of objects typically thrown out of cars, found next to a highway in the outskirts of Budapest. 36 particularly interesting pieces were chosen by the artist, in some cases personal objects, which were scanned into high-resolution photos. Főfoto Gallery exhibits 15 photos of the series.
The next series contains some photos of the Kardos Sándor Horus Archive which have never been published and have an unusual history. The scenes captured by the photos as well as the distress on their surfaces and how they were found have their own stories. If the negatives are not stored in a professional way, not only time leaves its mark on the topic but also some physical changes take place on the film, they are bound to get mouldy or crack. The changes in the photos found by Kardos do not evoke aversion but rather become part of the picture and also give an extra meaning to the photos with their randomness and change of colour.
A sudden storm brings hail on the Highlands of Greenland along with an unexpected surprise. András Kóczián and his friends sought shelter from a storm in an abandoned house, where he found an exposed but undeveloped roll of films.
Having arrived home he asked his brother to develop the photos. The pictures reveal a peculiar approach of an Innuit family to photography, where the gloomy but sunlit Greenlandic landscape provide the scenery.
